MEDITATION WORKSHOP with Barbara Reid - 7th of September - 12.00-13.30

For beginners and "false beginners", cost £6

In a society that offers us a constant stream of distractions including TV, radio, phones and the internet, it gets harder and harder to pay attention to the present moment. Meditation is about moment-to-moment awareness - paying attention on purpose, and rediscovering all the moments that we miss out on. With regular practice, meditation can help us to become more mindful, it can help to reduce agitation and stress, and it can help to restore calm.

Come along and give meditation a try.

This is a regular workshop, suitable for beginners and people who have already had some practice. It is based on the "Vipassana" or "insight" approach to meditation, and facilitated by Barbara Reid.

Bring cushions and a blanket (some blankets available) for comfort if you sit on the floor. Chairs are available.

To book, please contact the centre. info@equilibriumyoga.co.uk or ring on 01733 370002/07765 230809.

PRANAYAMA WORKSHOP - "The Yogic science of controlled breathing"- with Stefan Cunnington on 14th of September 2008 - 15.30-18.30

Learn how to recharge your batteries and feel refreshed at the end of a long day; how to relax and easily eliminate stress; how to improve your sleeping patterns; how to generate a profound physical and mental cleansing process; how to quieten the mind and prepare for meditation; how to influence the ageing process, how to balance and purify the nervous and endocrine system; how to lose weight and improve health.

At the heart of the realisations that made Yoga and yogis so famous is their ability to control the life force energy (Prana) that exists in each of us. This course will teach you how to feel this Prana/energy and how to use Pranayama as a curative as well as a preventive therapy.

Through the Yoga practice you become aware of the interdependence between the mind, body and spirit, whilst Pranayama teaches you how to influence them by changing the breathing patterns. This workshop aims to help you understand how and why the Yogic practice of controlled breathing is so efficient in improving health and in controlling the mind.

You will learn the breathing techniques ( Agnisara Dhauti, Surya Bedhana, Nadi Shodhana, Nauli Kriya etc) that can help you generate the power needed for self healing and personal growth.

On a physical level, regular practice of Pranayama can help diverse ailments such as diabetes, blood pressure, arthritis, digestive disorders, chronic fatigue, asthma, varicose veins, heart conditions, arteriosclerosis etc.

ABOUT PETROS:

Petros is an Advanced Jivamukti Yoga teacher, who lives, teaches and sings in Munich, Germany, and holds workshops, kirtans and retreats throughout the world. He inspires his students to be mindful and be true to their hearts in whatever they do. So we can always return to that place where - independently from outer circumstances - we always find peace: within our hearts. Many times, we meet obstacles on our paths: our intellect, our body, our expectations and preferences. Yoga gives us the possibility to free ourselves from these hindrances that keep us from experiencing our true nature - that what we really are: free, wild, full of love and joy - without conditioning, without fear.

Petros is thankful for all teachers and circumstances that give us the chance to experience this feeling of unity, of non-separateness - to eventually learn to accept the greatest of all teachers: our life itself. Om Shanti.

To book, please contact the centre. Limited spaces available. info@equilibriumyoga.co.uk or ring on 01733 370002/07765 230809.
